HPS (High Pressure Sodium) and MH (Metal Halide) are types of HID (High Intensity Discharge) bulbs. HID bulbs are electrical lamps that produce light by creating an electrical arc between two electrodes within a gas-filled bulb.
HPS bulbs are commonly used for street lighting, and produce a yellow-orange light. They are highly efficient, but produce limited light in the blue spectrum which can cause problems for plant growth.

Longer lifespan: HID bulbs have a much longer lifespan compared to incandescent bulbs, which means they need to be replaced less often.
High light output: HID bulbs produce a much higher amount of light compared to traditional incandescent bulbs, making them ideal for large areas, outdoor lighting, and commercial applications.
Cost-effective: Although HID bulbs are initially more expensive to purchase, they are more cost-effective in the long run due to their energy efficiency, longer lifespan, and higher light output.
Improved color rendering: HID bulbs, particularly metal halide, have improved color rendering compared to traditional incandescent bulbs, meaning they produce truer and more vibrant colors.
There are two main types of HID (High Intensity Discharge) bulbs for HPS (High Pressure Sodium) and MH (Metal Halide) lighting:
HPS (High Pressure Sodium) bulbs: These are commonly used in street lights, security lights and indoor growing applications. They are known for their yellow/orange light and high efficiency.
